With a 27 hole championship course, the Club also has spectacular practice facilities with one of the biggest driving ranges in Europe.
As the key attraction of the excellently equipped Costa Ballena Resort, the construction of the 27 hole championship golf course began in 1995. Integral Golf Design, directed by renowned Spanish player Jose Maria Olazábal, was in charge of the design of this versatile course on a largely flat piece of ground and where players of all levels can play an excellent round of golf, enjoying the stunning views over the Atlantic .
Costa Ballena Golf Club was opened to the public in 1997 and since then has hosted many different tournaments. Our club had the honour of hosting the Masculine Amateur International Championship, and the King's Cup in 2002 and 2003, being the first club in the history of this competition, created in 1911, to host the competition for two successive years.
As well as a 27 hole championship course, the Club has spectacular practice facilities with one of the biggest driving ranges in Europe. 345 meters wide and 350 meters long, our driving range has sufficient room for 120 players shooting from a grass surface at the same time. With distances of up to 70 meters , including those from bunkers, the course is an ideal winter training ground for professional players from the European circuit, as well as being the host for the winter championships of central and Northern European Golf Federations.
The jewel in the crown of our practice facilities is the excellent executive course, or Par three course, designed by Jose Maria Olazábal – IGD with the objective of challenging the player to use every iron in their bag. From the longest hole ( 180 meters ) to the shortest at 100 meters the player will find the same conditions as those on an 18 hole championship course.

Costa Ballena Golf is located in the south west of Spain ( Atlantic Coast ), and some of the holes run parallel to the Atlantic Shore (Links holes) with 14 kms. of white sandy beaches.
Jerez Airport is 30 kms. away, Seville airport 100 kms. Gibraltar Airport 120 Kms, Málaga Airport about 250 kms. And Faro Airport ( Algarve , Portugal ) about 300 kms from Costa Ballena.
