There are now more Britons living in Spain than in any other European country, aside from the UK, and British embassy staff say the real figure may be three times higher than official estimates.

There are now more Britons living in Spain than in any other European country, aside from the UK, and British embassy staff say the real figure may be three times higher than official estimates. 

The southern Costa del Sol alone has a shifting British population - not counting tourists - of up to 300,000 people. 
The influx has been so great that Spanish-based Britons, from the Madrid-based banker or Barcelona designer to the Costa del Sol pensioner, are outnumbered as an immigrant population only by Moroccans, Romanians and Ecuadorians
