Even though the town has grown, Estepona is one of the only towns on the coast that has managed to maintain its Spanish charm.
The town is well kept and all less developed than other places on the Costa del Sol. New developments are carefully planned to keep its charm.

The Marina in Estepona is a very pleasant place for a stroll on a summers day. There are many boats to look at, and it is great mix of coloured fishing boats alongside the big luxury yachts. Along the paseo there are a great selections of Cafés, tapas bars and restaurants.
In summer time the port comes alive after midnight as well. There are bars and nightclubs which are open til sunrise. Chico Diez is a very lively place and Attico is the place to go at the moment
Markets in Estepona.
A very lively fish auction takes place every morning in Estepona. This is for the early birds, as the auction is over by 7 AM. There is also the covered market on Calle Castillo which has fresh fruit, vegetables and fish as well.
Every Sunday at the port there is a carboot sale which is also worth a visit.
