Torre del Mar is located in the provins of Malaga in the eastern part between Malaga and Granada.
It is in the area called La Axarquía (the name is arabic and means: the area east of)
Torre del mar is approx. 30 km. east of Malaga, 50 km. from the airport, and 90 km from the skiing area of Sierra Nevada. The town has 16.000 habitants, but during the summer this rises to 100.000 when the tourists arrive. “La Baviera Golf" is located in Caleta de Vélez only 5 min. drive from Torre del Mar. Añoreta Golf is 10 min. drive from Torre del Mar.
The beach front of Torre del Mar is approx. 8 km. long and is thought of as one of the biggest and nicest on the Costa del Sol. In 1998 a new road was opened connecting Malaga and Torre del Mar. With easier access, the town is on the up. There has been built a lot of apartment and houses in Torre del Mar. Even the locals like it here, and move here permanently to then commute to and from work in Malaga. The travelling time between Malaga and Torre del Mar is now only 20-30 min.
